Who is StarLightWalker?

My name is Larry Scott and I recently passed the half-century mark in my life. Thus, by any reasonable measure I can be considered, like Dante, (at least) midway in our life’s journey.  Despite the fact that by all outward appearances I was enjoying a tremendously successful life, as I approached 50 I began to sense that I had somehow gone astray on my path.  Fortunately, I gradually awoke to the fact that there was indeed something fundamental missing in my life – a sense of fulfillment, of connection, of deep involvement in and interpenetration of life.  Somehow in my race to achieve success I had neglected the art of fulfillment and the unadulterated joy of being a divine spark dancing in the miraculous light of love.  This website is intended to chronicle my journey back to that Light.

I live in Richmond, Texas with my beautiful wife and my three equally beautiful daughters. By profession I am a geophysicist working in the energy industry (petroleum exploration) as a Vice President for a rapidly growing seismic company. I have run the Houston Marathon four times, clocking my best time thus far in January 2008. A voracious reader and self-improvement “nut”, I spent the first 25 years of my professional life climbing the ladder of success, only to find that the closer I got to the top the further I seemed to get from myself. Although my love of nature allowed me to connect with the Divine whenever I was outdoors – hiking, running, cycling, fishing, or camping – I have only recently begun an exploration of my essence: my inner light.

My spiritual journey began in earnest when I participated in a firewalk in Wimberley, Texas. Although I was initially focused on firewalking as a means of furthering my success by breaking through fear and limitations, that evening I was given a much more profound and enduring gift: an introduction to a spiritual community called SpiritWeavers that has helped to transform my life. As I continue to walk my path, and create a life congruent with the essence I uncover along the way, my life has blossomed in the most unexpected ways. My greatest desire and purpose is to fully awaken to the miracle of life and the present moment, and to be a mirror that helps others awaken to their potential as well.

The Sun Never Says

Even
After
All this time
The sun never says to the earth,

"You owe
Me."

Look
What happens
With a love like that,
It lights the
Whole
Sky.
